Parenthesized small letters
a–z map to parenthesized forms (⒜, ⒝, ⒞, …). These sit in Enclosed Alphanumerics and are distinct from bubble (circled) letters. Capitals and digits may not all have matches.
Lists and “secret” labels
A few parenthesized letters can mimic `(a)(b)(c)` without typing ASCII parens that a parser might strip. They are still unusual in professional email.
Sorting and search
Alphabet sort will not treat ⒜ as “a.” Unicode to Text restores Latin. Local conversion.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as typing `(a)`?
Visually similar, but it is one character, not three. Some search boxes will not find it with a query for `a`.
Why didn’t my capitals change?
The classic parenthesized set is lowercase. Use another enclosed style for caps.
Can I parenthesize a whole sentence?
You can, but readability collapses. Use it for short tokens.
